Two new labels added to food vending machines in Wuhu City, Anhui Province

vending machines are favored by consumers for their convenient and fast service experience, but while they bring convenience to a large number of consumers, there are also many safety hazards. Recently, the Market Supervision Bureau of Wuhu City, Anhui Province, carried out a safety hazard investigation on the use of automatic equipment in food business, strengthened the standardized management of vending machines, and posted two new labels on food vending machines: "Food Safety Main Responsibility Commitment Publicity Board" and "Food Safety Illegal Behavior 'Prohibition Mark'", to strengthen the main responsibility of food operators and ensure that the general public can buy and eat with peace of mind.

One is to post a "Food Safety Subject Responsibility Commitment Publicity Board". Publicize the names, contact numbers, and responsibilities of the main responsible persons or food safety directors (food safety officers) of food business units engaged in the use of automated equipment. When consumers make complaints about purchasing food, they should refer to the information on the public notice board and contact the food safety responsible person. The business unit should handle consumer complaints properly in the first time, resolve food safety issues in a timely manner, resolve conflicts in the bud, and prevent the possibility of further fermentation of problems.

The second is to post "prohibited signs" for food safety violations. The "prohibition sign" is a simplified red card that summarizes food safety laws and regulations, and is posted in a prominent position on vending machines to remind employees to regulate food business behavior and improve their ability to control food risks. At the same time, actively guiding consumers to enhance their self-protection awareness, through consumer supervision, forcing food business units to actively implement their main responsibility for food safety, promoting social governance of food safety, and continuously improving the level of food safety management.
