Google Fi attracts travelers by selling SIM cards in airport vending machines

Google Fi is a great deal for international travelers in more than 200 countries and territories, for only $ 10 per GB. MVNO is now directly targeting these potential customers by selling SIM cards at the US International Airport terminal.

As early as February, Google began selling Fi SIM cards in Best Buy stores, and expanded to Target this November. These kits-although slightly different in brand-are now being sold in vending machines at US airports.

The main feature of these kiosks is the Google Fi brand, but other SIM cards and travel-related accessories are being sold in the following lines. They cost $ 10, but your first bill gets a $ 10 Fi credit, so it's basically free.

Vending machines and packaging remind users to "Activate in the U.S. Before Going" because Google MVNO is registered with their U.S. address.

So far, these Google Fi vending machines have appeared in Terminal 4 of JFK and Terminal C in Newark. Both are international flights, which recently appeared according to reports on Reddit. Fi subscribers can pay per GB of the original flexible plan, or they can join the new unlimited plan, which offers up to 22 GB of high-speed data per month, but the video cap is 480p.

Long-term subscribers may remember the Project Fi "travel cart" vending machine, which offers travel booties for free at the airport, including fuzzy socks and sleeping masks. Overall, this is a smart strategy that Google is pursuing, which directly takes advantage of the tendency of people to buy last-minute necessities at the airport, regardless of high prices.
